The Country School Breaks Ground
On Wednesday, May 30, The Country School community celebrated the groundbreaking for the new Upper School, marking the beginning of an 14 month building project.
The 20,000 square foot building will host grades 6-8 and include larger classrooms, new Science and Art classrooms, a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) classroom, a multipurpose meeting space, and other important academic and faculty spaces.
Ten students representing grades K - 8 helped Headmaster Neil Mufson and Mr. Justin Nonemaker, Board President, break ground while the entire student body, faculty and staff, donors, and Trustees celebrated the occasion.
Mr. Mufson thanked all of the donors who helped to make this campus transformation possible and announced the It’s Our Time campaign has raised over $9M, surpassing the $8.5M goal months ahead of schedule.
Thank you to everyone who has invested in the future of our school with a gift or pledge to the campaign. Your support has made this the largest capital campaign in school history and it will transform our future, impacting generations of Country School children and families to come.
While we acknowledge and celebrate this incredible milestone, we are continuing to raise funds through the end of the calendar year as the known project cost will exceed $9M. It has long been our goal to earn the participation of as many current and former school families, alumni, grandparents, and friends as possible and that work is ongoing.
